How we work

Mortimer Spinks proposes the following approach to sourcing; it is intended to provide each client with a comprehensive and flexible solution to meet recruitment deadlines. We will provide full recruitment services including sourcing and screening candidates and managing them throughout the process. Our sourcing strategy will take into account the deadlines specified by the client with regards to vacancy prioritisation, availability of interview slots and specified start dates.

We will work closely with each client to ensure that quality permanent/temporary/contract personnel are procured in a timely manner and at the agreed price. Utilisation of proven recruitment resources to engage staff will include the following: -

Database

We recognise that the strongest candidates for a given role are unlikely to be actively looking for a new position and therefore one of our key sources of candidates is our database which we have built up over the past 20 years. Mortimer Spinks maintains a database of over 150'000 contract and permanent candidate records, which are constantly 'groomed' by a dedicated team in order to ensure that they remain accurate and up to date. Consultants and Account Managers are able to create a specific "Smart Skills Virtual Database" for candidates that fit each client's profile. This will provide immediate access to skilled and available candidates in addition to providing a contingent facility for ongoing registration against future requirements.

Networking, referrals and targeted search -

Are essential to any successful recruitment programme and often attract passive job seekers referred by colleagues of a similar skill set. These candidates are not on the open market and this will create a competitive advantage application process for each client.

Online advertising

To ensure the maximum numbers of candidates in the market are exposed to fresh opportunities; Mortimer Spinks has preferential agreements with a number of Internet job boards. Consultants will advertise specific roles on relevant sites depending on the target audience.

On-line database

Many of the Job Boards (Jobsite, CWJobs etc) have created a facility for candidates to post their CV with a summary of their job requirements, in order to speed up the sourcing process. These Job Boards provide daily updates of available candidates that have just registered their interest in a new role. This is a valuable source of active job seekers.

Candidate tracking

Using diary planners on our database, Mortimer Spinks consultants can track the availability of the best candidates in their field. Candidates prefer to work with a recruiter that understands and can discuss their skill set and assignment requirements in detail so we encourage vertical market specialisms.

Job alerts

Candidates register their interest in certain skill sets or job titles on our website and they receive job alerts via email as soon as any relevant roles are registered onto our database. This allows our consultants to proactively contact candidates quickly and effectively for positions in which they have already shown an interest.

Mobile jobs channel

Mortimer Spinks can reach a vast array of candidates via our mobile jobs channel; this is accessed through a palmtop computer or powerful personal organiser like a Palm or a Compaq Ipaq. This enables candidates to download all the latest Mortimer Spinks vacancies.

SMS texting

Mortimer Spinks has implemented SMS functionality. This method of communication has enabled us to maximise the technology used to reach candidates. The functionality is accessed via the candidate record on our database and allows us to reach the best candidates before our competitors through the use of cutting edge technology. We have several SMS template messages including; interview reminders and SMS mail shots.
